With its comfy sofas and open fires, Ye Olde Red Lion is as attractive on the inside as it is on the outside and now, thanks to a major investment, offers first class en-suite accommodation.

A lease dating back to 1782 still survives, so the building is at least 200 years and possibly more, but it hasn't always been a pub. At first, the building was occupied by a blacksmith's and after the late 1800s combined blacksmithing with the licensed trade.

It was bought by Arkell's in 1992. The pub now having its two distinct sections knocked through to make the present day estabishment.

The car park, by the way, used to be the local duck pond!

The only ducks at Ye Olde Red Lion now will be the ones on the menus along with well over 100 other items at the last count. Diners can choose from the full a la carte or the bar menu and all tastes are catered for, including children's because this is very much a family pub that attracts customers over a range of age groups.
