Arkell's Beer Festival 2010

Arkell’s Brewery is starting the build-up to its 2010 beer festival, being held this year on Saturday September 11th at Kingsdown Brewery in Stratton, Swindon, Wiltshire.

The brewery’s 2007 beer festival attracted thousands of visitors and Arkell’s is hoping that this year’s event will be just as popular – especially as it’s raising money for The Prospect Hospice in Wroughton.

Brewery chairman, James Arkell, said: “It’s always a great event with music and other attractions to entertain visitors, and there were be dozens of varieties of real ale to try from fellow family brewers across the United Kingdom as well as the chance to visit our 167-year old Brewery.

“The Arkell’s Beer Festival celebrates the great British tradition of brewing and we look forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide.”

Entry cost just £5 to include a commemorative glass and two ½ pint beer vouchers to get the taste-buds dancing.

Tours of the brewery are also available, and can be booked by calling 01793 823026. Early booking is recommended as these are often one of the most popular events of the day.

According to statistics, more real ale is being drunk in pubs than for decades, as increasing numbers of pub-goers appreciate the huge variety and taste of real ales in preference to other drinks.
